Skies Surround Us

Orange and pink clouds reflected in shallow water and mudflats at sunset, with silhouetted mountains in the distance

No Rush

I got to the lake early and sat for maybe a half hour in the lee of some rushes before I got up to take photos. I walked deliberately, slow steps and full breaths, present and alive.

Golden sunset clouds above a lake with dark mountain silhouettes, warm light reflecting on the water's edge

This was my view while sitting.

Red and orange clouds above silhouetted bare trees and mountains

I've been feeling lately that I need to take more space between things, more sitting.

Dirt path through bare winter trees with fallen leaves covering the ground at dusk

I liked how the light looked on these fallen leaves.

Snow-covered mountains at twilight beneath a pink-tinted cloud and deep blue sky, with dry winter grasses in the foreground

Walking back instead of thinking of what's next or getting lost in some memory, I was attuned to my surroundings and felt peace.
