Goldfinch in Sunflowers

I was admiring the sunflowers and the marbly clouds when this finch came by. I watched it systematically eat the seeds off that dried sunflower head from the top row by row to halfway down: gingerly nibbled, tongued, tossed. (Look a little off center, 5 o'clock, for the goldfinch.)

a little sunrise glow

Farm equipment on the side of the road, a far off line of cottonwoods in the distance, cloudy skies. A bright sunflower head the road and brush blurry behind.
