We are on a planet
I remember this sunset, well. Something about the streaks reminded me of photos of Jupiter, and I felt very aware of myself existing on a spherical ball of rock with clouds that flush just so when the ball rotates such that the sun dips below a horizon. I thought about how sunset is happening somewhere all the time. I lay on the ground and watched it fade all the way out while enjoying the smell of oranges that teenagers were batting with sticks on a path a little further down the foothills. I was glad they were having fun, but also felt quite serious thinking of the many teenagers also on this planet who aren't sure what they'll eat next, whether they or their loved ones will survive the day. They should be on a hill at sunset batting oranges, laughing.
This was the same day as this photo.
Also from that day
I love how that bubbly cloud lit up.
Check out those cloud shadow streaks in the sky!
Don't the clouds look Jovian?
