Chartreuse

I ended up out by a railway looking for somewhere dark and quiet to see the comet, again. It was the clearest night that week, and also the coldest! Hands deep in my pockets, I picked my way up a little hill in the starlight, the Milky Way bright and spectacular, but my eyes kept settling on the visiting comet: that white, slightly fuzzy ball, and that streak that grows longer when you look away.

Up the hill, I was pleased to find rubber rabbitbrush. It was in bloom then, that yellow all the more cheery on a cold night. The camera revealed a chartreuse sky to match, green airglow.
